LiteraturHaus is home to Denmark’s first live venue for literature. Here, in an abandoned and rustic church on Nørrebro, audiences may experience readings by national and international writers, established and budding writers, novelists and poets as well as listen to and participate in discussions about literature led by critics, scholars and writers. LiteraturHaus, furthermore, offers events centred on film and other art forms or on their cross-pollination with literature. Throughout the year and especially during Copenhagen Jazz Festival, LiteraturHaus also offers its audience a chance to experience performing musicians in an intensely intimate setting.
