Collaborating intensely for a week in the Danish countryside as part of an improvising summit in May 2019 and sharing ideas on improvisation and life, the idea of a duo was born. Both extending their instruments with electronics, the musical outcome is minimalistic, yet expressive.
With two very different backgrounds that are complementing each other, they are creating a beautiful net of textures and sounds each time new and unknown.
Axel Dörner is one of the most unique voices in free improvisation. He developed a completely different language for the trumpet in the late 1990s. Most of the ensembles he is part of, are characterized by a non-hierarchical collaboration of the musicians involved. Since 2000 he is working on an electronic extension of his music on the trumpet. His extensive biography lifts SWR Jazzprize 2006, Jazzprize of the city of Berlin 2019 to name a few.
