A meeting of groovy rhythms, raw energy, and spiritual depth awaits the audience when this unique Danish quintet takes the stage with an intense blend of ethio-jazz, afrobeat, groove, and soul-jazz. The band draws direct inspiration from Ethiopia—quite literally—where they have met and learned from legendary musicians such as Mulatu Astatke, widely known as the founder of ethio-jazz.
With an instrumentation rarely seen in Danish music—a Hammond organ, drums, percussion, and two saxophones—the quintet creates a sound that is distinctive, danceable, and alive. The music is rich with improvisation, groove, and an unpredictability that makes every concert a new experience.
The band consists of five experienced and versatile musicians from the Danish jazz and world music scene, who have repeatedly captivated audiences at the Copenhagen Jazz Festival and other prominent stages.
