This quartet is led by Bertram Kvist and Mads Tornemark, who have played together extensively and been each other's regular sidemen for many years. This group is their way of putting their heads together and playing each other's music—not as sidemen, but both as band leaders.
The music is inspired by the improvisation of traditional jazz, but makes use of sounds and grooves from the Nordic tradition. There is a hidden complexity behind the beautiful melody, and the improvisation always reaches unexpected places.
