Orchestra Résident is Belma’s own house band, delivering top-tier concert experiences throughout Winterjazz together with carefully selected guest artists from the Copenhagen jazz scene. The band is led by award-winning composer and trombonist Tobias Stavngaard.
This evening, trumpeter Jakob Sørensen visits Belma as hymns and folk songs from the Danish song tradition meet the language and expression of jazz in brand-new arrangements.
Jakob Sørensen is 34 years old based in Copenhagen and now releasing his fifth album as a bandleader. Since finishing his studies in Aarhus Jakob Sørensen back in 2015 Jakob has released the records Cirkel(2019), Fabel(2017), NOMAD(2016) which really sat course for his career after his debut album Bagland(2015).

After finishing the studies in Aarhus and Berlin Jakob moved to Copenhagen and is playing in the Navy Band and freelancing. Jakob has been touring in Sweden, Germany and Denmark with his own group.
