Gypsy Jazz med Swing Acoustique

Free admission

Experience the swing of 1930s Paris and listen to both the anecdotes surrounding Django Reinhardt’s moving life.

Swing Acoustique is a Danish acoustic gypsy-jazz trio founded in 1998. Their music is rooted in Django Reinhardt’s repertoire and the classic Hot Club tradition. The group plays both Django compositions, swing numbers from the 1930s and 1940s, as well as more recent music within related genres – including pieces from jazz, pop, and Latin.

This concert focuses on the legend Django Reinhardt, and between the pieces there will be some family-friendly storytelling about the incredible guitarist who played with only two fingers after a tragic accident. Even so, Django Reinhardt managed to create and perform guitar compositions that can seem impossible even for a trained guitarist today.

The concert will last approximately 2 x 45 minutes with a break. The trio is currently accompanied by violinist Alexander Kraglund.

Line up:
  • Jan Runge and Peter Zeuthen on the guitar. Double bass player Jesper Riis. Violinist Alexander Kraglund.
