Award-winning composer and pianist Jens B. Christiansen, aka Rumpistol, embarks on a tour in February 2027 with a new quintet, performing music from his critically acclaimed piano trilogy After The Flood, Isola and Going Inside.
Released between 2020 and 2023, the piano trilogy marked a significant artistic leap for Rumpistol. For more than 20 years, he has been known as a prominent voice on the electronic music scene and as a co-founder of Kalaha. The albums After The Flood, Isola and Going Inside marked a breakthrough both artistically and in terms of audience reach. The music found its way to new listeners and received regular airplay on Danish radio station P8 Jazz, while international tastemakers such as BBC presenter Gilles Peterson praised the releases as “fantastic and worth seeking out”.
The trilogy grew out of a personal experience with burnout, during which Christiansen found his way back to music through the piano. The result is an intimate, meditative sonic universe where organic compositions and improvisation merge.
On the February 2027 tour, the music will be presented in new live interpretations with a newly formed quintet.
The concerts offer a sensory journey through Rumpistol’s piano trilogy, exploring the space between ambient electronica, atmospheric jazz and neoclassical moods. A live experience for anyone drawn to both immersive listening and rich melodic landscapes – perfect for fans of artists such as Nils Frahm, Yann Tiersen and Max Richter.
We look forward to seeing you <3...
