The concert has finished
Ole Matthiessen is a jazz musician, music historian, journalist, teacher, author, music producer, and fortunately, a expositor in JazzCup's record department where he shares his vast knowledge. The pianist plays in several Danish jazz groups, but here we are lucky enough to listen to his own constellation. Ole has absorbed the entire history of the music, where legends like McCoy Tyner, John Coltrane, and Miles Davis have put their stamps on his interpretation of the genre. He is joined by Henrik Bolberg on trumpet and Bob Rockwell on tenor saxophone, both of whom have not only received the Ben Webster Prize, but also Palæ Bar’s prestigious honor. This quintet plays vital jazz, the highlight being Ole’s gift for communication in the music - not only in speech and writing, but also by playing it. Rejoice!
