Saxophonist Benjamin Koppel has joined forces with Nimb to present a number of exclusive jazz concerts in Nimb Bar. The first will be performed on Saturday 6 July when top-name U.S. bassist Scott Colley visits Denmark and together with Marie Carmen Koppel, Benjamin Koppel and Jacob Christoffersen performs an intimate brunch concert in the venerable Nimb setting.
Marie Carmen Koppel is best known as a gospel and soul singer, but equally she is an excellent jazz vocalist, which is evident on her album “Brooklyn Jazz Session”. In the autumn of 2010, Benjamin and Marie travelled to Brooklyn to make a recording with top New York musicians. The music is composed by Benjamin Koppel, while the lyrics are exclusively by Marie.
