IKI: MASSES II is a performance art and concert experience from the experimental and
award-winning vocal ensemble IKI. The event is taking place over three days in Thorvaldsens Museum, exploring the concept of «Masses». IKI consists of 5 female vocalists from Denmark, Norway and Finland. Working with the voice and electronics as their instruments and improvisation as their artistic tool, IKI creates their music in an intense here-and-now-moment together with the audience, going from trance-like soundscapes to alluring avant-garde beats and structures.
IKI: MASSES II a two-part event; the second part is a concert in the beautiful courtyard of the museum. IKI will be joined by saxophonist Maria Faust on the 10th, and drummer/percussionist Marilyn Mazur on the 11th, making all three days a unique and different experience from each other.

In the majestic setting of Thorvaldsens museum the audience will also have the chance to experience an exclusive first part, where the singers of IKI will perform in separate rooms of the museum - together, but apart. Accompanied by words from poet Nicolaj Stochholm, written especially for the event, IKI will challenge the traditional roles of the audience and the public asrecipients and participants, respectively.
