Violinist Caroline Bugala spontaneously appeared at one of Kjeld Lauritsen's jam sessions at La Fontaine a few years ago and put the audience down with her fantastic playing. Before she had played her 2 tracks she was engaged to a concert on the spot and she has since been a dear guest of the club.
Her playing is rooted in many years of study on classical violin, but when she met jazz, a great love was born. Her eminent technique and deep roots in swinging gypsy jazz provide the basis for this concert, which reaches far and wide with detours to Blues, Latin American music and perhaps even a little tango.
Kjeld Lauritsen on the large Hammond Organ with bass pedals and rotating leslie speaker and jazz master Espen Laub on drums complete the trio.
The concert will take the form of a cornucopia of sensitive and captivating moments. Music from both European and American jazz tradition, and with a focus on the rich Latin American music.
