At the age of just 28, trumpeter and singer Benny Benack III has already shown the jazz world that he is a very special talent: Not only is he an excellent trumpeter in the same jazz vein as Kenny Dorham and Blue Mitchell, but he is also a formidable singer with his elegant, mature and natural performance in best post-Sinatra style. The repertoire is a delicious selection of jazz standards, but also with plenty of room for his own songs, all delivered with Benack's great virtuosity and eminent sense of showmanship.

At these two nights in Beta, Benack has the award-winning Swedish pianist Matthias Nilsson alongside him, as well as the american bassist Alex Claffy and the American drummer Joe Peri, who just recently appeared on Tony Bennett's latest album with Lady Gaga.
