The clarinetist Andreas Røysum has in recent years been everywhere with bands such as Tristan Honsinger Trio, duo with Axel Dörner, Alasdair Roberts & Völvur, Nakama and Marthe Lea Band. When he gathers nine of his best friends and favorite musicians in the Andreas Røysum Ensemble, his fascination with traditional music from Asia and Africa is mixed with the fire and language of expressive jazz and contemporary music's extensive sense of form.
One and a half years since its debut album, the Ensemble returns with a burning follow-up that dig deep and reaches far - a breath-taking 75-minutes of close ensemble playing, howling solos and mysterious undertones. With a fine selection of Scandinavian jazz's young generation of musicians on board, this ship runs at full speed these days.
