Swingstyrke 7 has existed for approximately 50 years and Flipper was there from the start. With his incomparable swinging tenor playing, he helped shape jazz for a lifetime.
The orchestra was formed in its time by the guitarist Jørgen Hallin. His great role model was the rhythm guitarist in Count Basie's orchestra, Freddie Green. And it is precisely Basie's Kasas city 7 group that SW 7 is inspired by.
