Jan zum Vohrde Kvartet på Kultorvet
Danish Jazz Music Association and Hvide Lam organize 5 days of concerts in the middle of Kultorvet.
Jan zum Vohrde is a veteran of Danish jazz. The now 80-year-old alto saxophonist has a long and credible career behind him.
In the 70s as a member of the Radiojazz group, Creme Fraiche, Mirror and many other prominent ensembles.
In '83 he won the JASA Prize and in the same year joined the Radio Big Band. He stayed here for 13 years as one of the orchestra's finest soloists.
This fine quartet was composed for the occasion and supported by the Ben Webster Foundation.
It will pay tribute to drummer Alex Riel who died a few weeks ago.
