Renowned British pianist, organist, and composer Kit Downes joins forces with Australian saxophonist/composer Calum Builder as they present music for two pipe organs. Weaving between vibrant tones and sublime ambience, they will combine the Concert Organ with Builder’s own (Re)constructed Pipe Organ.
A self-built instrument, The (Re)constructed Pipe Organ consists of pipes rescued from old churches across Northern Denmark. It has been brought down from the balconies to be reassembled, resulting in a mesmerizing tangle of extensive tubing and a multitude of organ pipes.
Together they invite the audience to be immersed in a distant instrument, brought close once again.
