Ludvig Samuelsson Trio

Ludvig Samuelsson, a young alto and baritone saxophonist from Sweden, has made a name for himself on the European jazz scene in recent years. In addition to his work as a sought-after sideman (e.g. Lasse Mørck Quartet, Cassius Lambert, Alla gets medal, etc.), he has also released two critically acclaimed albums in his own name with the trio Lubbe Trio: "Miniatyrer" (2020) and "Indoor music" (2022).

In 2023, Ludvig formed a new trio together with some of Denmark's most sought-after musicians; Casper Christensen (guitar) and Lasse Mørck (double bass), focusing on swing and ensemble. The trio is strongly inspired by Jimmy Giuffre's trio from the 50s, where Ludvig's own compositions challenge the roles of instruments in the band in a playful and sophisticated way.
