ABSOLUTE MUSIC #44 X COPENHAGEN JAZZ FESTIVAL
Szymon Pimpon Gąsiorek - a Polish drummer and composer. In April 2022 he released his debut solo album "Pozdrawiam" (ENG: Greetings) on Pointless Geometry. Sonically innovative, rich in genre, the material combines heavy percussive rhythms with electronic sequences, abstract synthesizer passages, noise, field recordings, static textures, as well as a pop sensibility channeled through autotuned vocals. The album sits comfortably between pop aesthetics, trancelike quality, and experimentation. The album was followed by b-day EP released in 2023 on Love & Beauty Music. Szymon studied at the Rytmisk Musikkonservatorium in Copenhagen. He leads bands such as the post-jazz outfit Pimpono Ensemble, or E/I, engaged in minimalistic music.
