Torben Snekkestad has established himself as one of the most creative and experimental saxophonists in Scandinavia. His musical expression is a hybrid of various genres, from jazz and classical to free improvisation and electroacoustic music. His music has a distinctive aesthetic and is an intertwining of evocative poetry, extremely expanded playing techniques, intuitive improvisations, and consistent compositional elements. Perhaps this is most clearly expressed in the solo format, which Snekkestad has cultivated in a critically acclaimed solo album trilogy and through numerous solo concerts in Europe, Japan, and the USA. At the concert at Koncertkirken, the audience will have the opportunity to experience Snekkestad in a unique electroacoustic solo set up, where he unfolds sounds with his wind instruments, samples, and electronic setups in the tension between acoustic and electronic soundscapes.
