One of the highlights of Copenhagen Jazz Festival 2024 will be when the American tenor sax lighthouse George Garzone plays in Paradise Jazz.
73-year-old Garzone is famous for his participation in the legendary Boston free jazz trio The Fringe (Garzone/Lockwood/Gullotti), which has played together since 1972. At the same time, he has released a large number of albums in his own name and has been a sought-after sideman (Joe Lovano, George Russell. Bob Moses, Wolfgang Muthspiel, Randy Brecker and others). As a teacher at several of the world's leading jazz conservatories (including Berklee), Garzone has been a career starter for a number of top names (Joshua Redman, Wynton Marsalis, Mark Turner and others).
