Mathias Heise was just 8 years old when he stumbled upon the harmonica by chance and fell in love with the instrument. Today, he is nothing short of a world champion in chromatic harmonica playing - a title he won at the World Harmonica Festival at just 20 years old.

Furthermore, both Danish and international awards have practically rained down on him, including New Jazz Star of the Year (2015) and the Crown Prince Couple's Stardust Prize (2016). Mathias is also a pianist and composer and has collaborated with the DR Big Band, with whom he released the album "The Beast" (2018) - to the great delight of critics: "He is almost too good to be true," wrote Politiken. He has also released 3 albums with his band Mathias Heise Quadrillion, an album with Mathias Heise Quintet, and an album with the classical accordion virtuoso Bjarke Mogensen.
