The music is organic and layered with crackling beats and electronic soundscapes that captivate the listener's attention and open up new understandings of the historical and mythological themes.
Cort Lunde's musical interpretations will include works such as "Minerva Gives Soul to Man Created by Prometheus," "Bacchus," "Vulcan," "Mercury as Argus Slayer," and "Psyche with the Beauty Salve." For example, the myth of Mercury and Argus will be reflected in the use of flutes, while "Minerva Gives Soul to Man Created by Prometheus" will be explored through a special hexatonic Prometheus scale.
The duo started during the Corona pandemic and has since distinguished itself with concerts outside traditional venues, including garden concerts and performances at art museums. Their debut album “Flora Electronica” was praised as “Album of the Week” on P8 Jazz, and their latest album “Hydrophilia” was launched with a grand concert at Jazzhus Montmartre.
Don't miss this exceptional opportunity to experience Cort Lunde live in the beautiful acoustic setting of Thorvaldsens Museum, where they will bring Thorvaldsen's sculptures to life through their innovative and captivating soundscapes. This event is part of CPH Jazz Festival 24, and we look forward to welcoming you to an evening filled with musical magic and cultural depth....
