Spacelab consists of Nikolaj Hess, Anders Christensen and Mikkel Hess. Nikolaj is a prolific composer and orchestra leader whose sumptuous piano playing can be heard on more than 100 albums. His latest album received wide international recognition and was hailed by Politiken as the best jazz album in Denmark in 2013. Nikolaj has played with Lee Konitz, Benny Golson, Hess Is More, Global Motion, Fela Kuti and many others. AC is the ace of the bass and has played with e.g. Raveonettes, Paul Motian Electric Bebop band, Tomasz Stanko, Savage Rose, etc. His latest album "Dear Someone" was acclaimed internationally. Mikkel is the founder of Hess Is More, for which he conducts and composes, as well as sings and plays drums, bass, etc. Mikkel's very personal jazz drumming style can be heard on several award-winning albums.
