As part of the “3 Elements” project, Høiby intends to record with different trio lineups, using this as a foundation for his new working trio. The first album “Earthness”, featuring two young musicians of the London contemporary jazz scene: Noah Stoneman and Luca Caruso, came out in November to incredible reviews in the UK.
The new trio release “Like Water” features two rising stars from Amsterdam, the pianist Chaerin Im and Jamie Peet on drums, alongside Høiby’s foundational bass – an album that flows like its namesake, through a journey of composition and improvisation....
