Trumpeter Mathias Eick is one of Norway's foremost jazz soloists with a distinctive, wistful trumpet sound. He creates melodic modern jazz with introspective compositions and sensitive improvisation. This special sound has created an audience for him far beyond the normal boundaries of jazz.

He has been affiliated with the prestigious record label ECM since 2008, and has also played and toured with stars such as Chick Corea, Mike Stern, Jacob Young and Thomas Dybdahl.

Among his latest projects is "Nordic Dreams", which, as the title indicates, expresses a mythical soundscape, with deep roots in Nordic noir and folk.
