Jakob Kullberg Ensemble - Like Breath of Air through Trees

Jakob Kullberg is internationally recognized for his performances of modern cello concertos and
was nominated in 2022 for the Nordic region’s most prestigious award, the Nordic Council Music
Prize. He is one of the most active and stylistically wide-ranging Danish instrumentalists and is
known for his deeply personal musical interpretations. Kullberg gained immediate attention with his
vocal debut on the award-winning album Country (2021). With his untrained singing voice, he is
the front figure of the Jakob Kullberg Ensemble—a group rooted in jazz, indie, free improvisation,
and modern classical music. His cross-stylistic compositions can be described as dreamy art music
contained within an experimental song form. With its range of different expressions brought
together in one cohesive and authentic whole, the music forms its own genre—a kind of post-genre
