Anders Malta Almost BigBand is made up of some of the finest musicians on the Danish jazz scene, carefully selected for their ability to shine as both strong soloists and sensitive section players. The music is a modern take on big band tradition, drawing inspiration from classical music, 1950s jazz, neobop, and contemporary compositional styles. It features both long, composed passages and more open, improvisational sections.
The result is an explosively tight live band, with virtuosic soloists and intense ensemble interplay.
