Singer Britt Hein will perform at Kirkeskibet in Sydhavn during Copenhagen Jazz Festival with an intimate concert on Tuesday, July 7 at 8:00 PM. Joining her is her trio consisting of Nikolaj Hess (piano), Jesper Bodilsen (bass), and Morten Lund (drums)—three musicians who, over decades, have made a significant mark on Danish jazz. The audience will get a special preview of her upcoming jazz album My Memory of You, which will be released in August. During the concert, the release of a new single from the album will be celebrated.
The music revolves around themes of life such as grief, relationships, hope, and the grandeur of nature, and was created through a close artistic collaboration between lyricist Lisa Freeman and Britt Hein. The repertoire therefore includes new songs as well as existing compositions with music by Jørgen Emborg, Carsten Dahl, and Niels-Henning Ørsted Pedersen, all with lyrics by Lisa Freeman.

My Memory of You is Britt Hein’s first jazz album, but she has more than 20 years of experience as a singer on the Danish music scene. Britt Hein is known as the lead singer of the funk big band BLAST and as a member of the vocal group Singers, with whom she has toured extensively over the years. With My Memory of You, Britt Hein steps forward as a composer and songwriter—but above all as a communicator. For her, the meeting with the audience is the very core of music, and she is therefore especially looking forward to the concert at Kirkeskibet on July 7 at 8:00 PM.
