Michael Dalgas Trio presents atmospheric music that invites the listener into a diverse universe of melody-driven and reflective jazz. The music is primarily composed by bandleader and drummer Michael Dalgas, building a bridge between the accessible and sounds that gently challenge the listener’s boundaries.
A melancholic and contemplative quality runs throughout the music, which has become a defining characteristic of Michael Dalgas’ musical universe. Joining Dalgas are bassist Jasper Jagd and pianist Lars Fiil on piano and Wurlitzer. In 2010, the trio released the album Death of a Tree, which received praise from both Danish and international critics. Selections from this release will be performed at concerts with the Michael Dalgas Trio.
Together, the three musicians share a natural, attentive, and responsive interplay, ensuring that the music never unfolds in quite the same way twice—yet always remains present and deeply engaging.
