“Blossoming – Summer Edition” is a tribute to Blossom Dearie — but also a celebration of the special magic that occurs when a strong trio and a narrative vocal meet in a room with space, air and musicality.

Iben Glassow grew up in Jutland without a traditional musical background and only discovered jazz later in life when she moved to Copenhagen. Her fascination with music as a language led her into the city's jazz scene, where she — as a trained linguist — quickly understood that jazz is best learned among those who speak it as a native speaker. She began listening, singing, practicing and throwing herself into jams all over the city. Along the way, she has collaborated with, among others, Zier Romme and Carl Winther and received instruction and mentorship from Sinne Eeg. Iben's vocals are warm, clear and naturally communicative — shaped by life experience, curiosity and a deep love for the intimate power of song.

Zier Romme is one of Denmark's most prominent younger jazz pianists and a musician who left a clear mark on the Danish and Scandinavian jazz scene early on. Already at the age of 11, he was captivated by Oscar Peterson's music, which — in his own words — “smoked straight into my veins”. This fascination with post-war swing and bebop has since been at the core of his expression. Zier enrolled at the Royal Academy of Music at the age of 19, but left to learn music where he believes it lives strongest: on stage, together with musicians who challenge and lift. He has since played with a long list of prominent names, including Jesper Lundgaard, Alex Riel, Hugo Rasmussen, Jacob Fischer, Alvin Queen, Paolo Fresu and Victor Lewis. His playing is lyrical, warm and deeply swinging, and he has been honored with, among others, the Bent Jädig Prize, the Ystad Jazz Piano Award and the Ben Webster Prize 2023, where he was described as “a solid jazz musician who spreads jazz of the finest caliber and makes everyone around him sound good”....
