Glassow & Romme
In this duo format, Iben’s storytelling voice and Zier’s elegant piano playing meet in an intimate dialogue where each song becomes a small story of its own — music that invites the audience into a space of warmth and connection.
The duo allows inspiration to blossom in new colors: with Zier’s lyrical and swinging piano as the foundation and Iben’s warm, clear vocals at the forefront, a musical conversation emerges that smiles, soars, and explores deeper emotions. Their repertoire spans carefully selected jazz standards, personal favorites, and hidden musical gems, all interpreted with respect for tradition and the duo’s own natural sense of ease.
Expect an evening of:
* lyrical, light, and swinging vocal jazz
* intimate interplay between voice and piano
* summer atmosphere, charm, and musicality
* interpretations that combine respect for tradition with personal expression
A concert celebrating the elegance of jazz — and the unique magic that arises when two musicians meet in a space with room for stillness, playfulness, and improvisation.
Iben Glassow – Vocals
Iben Glassow grew up in Jutland without a traditional musical background and only discovered jazz later in life after moving to Copenhagen. Her fascination with music as a language drew her into the city’s jazz scene, where, as a trained linguist, she quickly realized that jazz is best learned where the language is spoken fluently: on stage, within the community, and among fellow musicians.
She began listening, singing, practicing, and immersing herself in jam sessions throughout the city. Along the way, she has collaborated with musicians such as Zier Romme, Carl Winther, and Per Møllehøj, and has found both guidance and mentorship from Sinne Eeg, who has been an important influence on her artistic development.
Iben’s voice is warm, clear, and naturally communicative — an expression shaped by life experience, curiosity, and a profound love for the intimate power of song. She sings with a calmness and presence that brings even the simplest melodies to life.
Zier Romme – Piano
Zier Romme is one of Denmark’s most distinguished younger jazz pianists — a musician who made a strong impression on the Danish and Scandinavian jazz scene from an early age. At just eleven years old, he became captivated by the music of Oscar Peterson, which, in his own words, “went straight into my veins.” This deep fascination with the swing and bebop traditions of the post-war era has remained at the core of his musical expression ever since.
At nineteen, he was admitted to the Rhythmic Music Conservatory in Copenhagen, but chose to leave his studies in order to learn the music where he believes it lives most strongly: on stage, in the company of musicians who challenge and inspire one another. Since then, he has performed with prominent artists including Jesper Lundgaard, Alex Riel, Hugo Rasmussen, Jacob Fischer, Alvin Queen, Paolo Fresu, and Victor Lewis.
Zier’s playing is lyrical, warm, and deeply swinging. He has received several prestigious honors, including the Bent Jädig Award, the Ystad Jazz Piano Award, and the Ben Webster Prize 2023, where he was described as “a complete jazz musician who spreads jazz of the highest caliber and makes everyone around him sound better.”...
