Following up on last year’s success, the collaboration between Italian collectives and improvisers from Copenhagen’s scene is expanding this year into a bigger project spanning over four months: International Creative Residencies. Every month, from February to May, a different group of improvisers is touring through Italy to meet various underground music collectives, from north to south, to work together and share aesthetics and practices. Conversely, a different group of musicians will travel from Italy to Copenhagen each month to experience the scene here and work with local improvisers. On February 17th we are starting the whole project, hosting Lorenzo Binotti and Mirco Ballabene from LIMS Collective (Urbino).
For this concert they will work together with some of the finest improvisers in town, all well known masters of extended instrumental resources and oblique aesthetics between jazz, improvised and concrete music.

Gianluca Elia - electronics
A solo project as an always present space, following along every aesthetic and geographical change, or trip, life is flowing through. A dimension, the magic circle, where works from different spaces and times can come into play: the digested, the current and the unexpected. The project was initially conceived and developed in Amsterdam, during the first half of 2016. It has collected acoustic, extendend saxophone resources, together with electronics, no-input mixing, feedback and sampling instruments I programmed or that are still work in progress.
Gianluca Elia is working across and between improvised and electroacustic music, programming and performance. Originally from the jazz, free-jazz and underground scene of Milan (Italy), he visited different scenes and academies, oscillating between Copenhagen, Amsterdam, Berlin and Italy, and he’s now based in Copenhagen.
