"Outside Us": Gry Harrit (vocal), Søren Lee (guitar), Jon Bruland (bass).
Søren Lee and Gry Harrit’s friendship goes way back, but they have never played together. Until now. What started as a thought is now becoming a reality: What happens when a dedicated jazz / fusion guitarist meets a rock singer and brings in a pop bassist as an anchor? What happens to us when our surroundings suddenly are not as they used to be? If you are as strong within your own profession - as these three personalities are - then it is definitely an experience to hear how songs and genres are raised and drawn, and still merge within the free framework that jazz offers.
"Outside Us" plays songs from the big song catalog, and in a way we only know when the evening is over.

Søren Lee. The legendary now deceased jazz guitarist Jim Hall wrote these words as cover notes on the back of Lee´'s second solo album “What a pleasure to discover Søren Lee, a tribute to the universal appeal of Jazz music. Simply outstanding! ”and Jim Hall then took Søren on a gig at the famous New York jazz club Village Vanguard where he sat in with the Jim Hall Quartet.
Since then, Søren Lee has both recorded a record and toured with legendary bassist Ray Brown (known for his long collaboration with, among others, Oscar Peterson and Ella Fitzgerald). It also became for Lee a collaboration with i.a. Adam Nussbaum, and performances with pianist Brad Mehldau in New York. Søren Lee is also known for his current collaboration with world star bassist Linley Marthe and Niclas Campagnol in his current super trio "Søren Lee Diversity Trio" This trio has so far released one album in the same name but is also expected to release a new double live album recorded live on Montmartre in Copenhagen which will be published in the spring of 2022. In addition, Lee has played and performed with, among others, Alvin Queen, Roy Haynes, Larry Goldings, Peter Bernstein, Kenwood Dennard, Niels Lan Doky, Mads Vinding, Carsten Dahl, Linley Marthe, Niclas Campagnol, Jørgen Emborg, Bo Stief, Jesper Lundgaard, Alex Riel, Jon Bruland, Klaus Menzer, The Brothers Hess, Cæcilie Norby, Frederik Lundin, Jonas Johansen, and bands like Tax Office and 3 of a Kind and many more ……
"Søren Lee is a deeply soulful player, whether he's burning it up or telling a story through one of his beautiful ballads" - Larry Goldings, pianist / organist.
Jon Bruland's timing is fabulous. You can hear an entire orchestra reflected in the way he plays his bass. His tone and melodic overview are unique. It is no wonder that there have been lots of calls for him in the high end of the music business. Sergio Mendes, Anne Linnet, Alberta, Bjørn Afzelius, Kasper Winding, Dr.Hook, Björn Afzelius, Blast, Sergio Mendes, Pointer Sisters, Donna Summer and many more, and since he is also an excellent sheet music reader with a solid theoretical foundation, he has also been used diligently in e.g. Jan Glæsel's orchestra. Jon is also a film composer (has written music for "Hotellet", "At klappe med en hånd", "Lykkevej"). All of this makes him a bassist who stands out from the crowd and is worth experiencing.
