mocean unites extensive sounds with melodic structures in an acoustic ensemble consisting of saxophones, cello and double bass. The group is formed by bassist Mark Ibsgaard Gregersen and is driven by the intention to work with a synth-inspired and detailed approach to the sound of the instruments, their textures and tonalities. The music is a mix of compositions and improvisation and is best described as a blend of modern classical music, European improvisation music and more recent electronic music.
