Tenor Legacy, Thilo/Waidtløw Quintet

The tenor saxophone is one of the most prominent instruments in jazz and over time, the greatest musicians have come together to challenge and inspire each other musically. Many of these concerts have fortunately been recorded, so we all have been able to hear - and feel the atmosphere - from these master meetings; for example. the legendary "tenor battles" between Ben Webster & Don Byas, Sonny Stitt & Gene Ammons and John Coltrane & Sonny Rollins. At this exclusive concert, two of Denmark's greatest tenor saxophonists meet to, together with a bubbly and well-swinging rhythm group, pay tribute to some of the great masters. You can look forward to a blast of a classic "tenor battle" when Thilo and Waidtløw cross blades in our new cocktail and jazz lounge "The Oven". In the old days, this was where the grain was dried, but now the thick vaults help to emphasize the beautiful tones and we promise that it will be a unique music experience!
