Simple, meditative and airy harmonies unfold, separate and condensate. Sometimes highly energetic and strict rhythmic passages appear, sometimes intense melodic lines form the music, or the music might float into a dense swamp of abstract textures. ‘Sidechains’ was formed in 2019 and consists of some of the strongest improvisers and saxophonists from the Danish experimental music scene, and in this ensemble they play scores with elements of improvisation.
