Precious Mayhem is the solo project of Danish/English composer, cellist, producer, and vocalist Amanda Drew. Known for her innovative blend of contemporary classical and experimental electronic pop, Amanda crafts a deeply sensitive and genre-defying sound that draws comparisons to artists like Agnes Obel, Julia Holter, and FKA Twigs.
Her debut album, The Softness I Sing, released on October 25 via Barkhausen Recordings, explores the delicate intersection of vulnerability and strength. Inspired by the liminal space between wakefulness and sleep, the record combines lush cello, choral arrangements, and fragmented electronic elements to create an immersive listening experience.
Formerly the lead vocalist and composer for the post-rock band Natlyst, Drew's compositional talents extend beyond albums to include works like the opera Queen Annabell, which premiered in Denmark in 2024. Now stepping into her solo career, Precious Mayhem showcases Amanda’s unique ability to weave poignant storytelling with dynamic soundscapes, making her one of Denmark's most exciting new voices in contemporary music.
