Saxophonist, writer, and a performative whirlwind. This evening, the trio pays tribute to the master Thelonious Monk, with TS Høeg adding his unparalleled energy and avant-garde sensibility. Toldam and AC have spent years exploring Monk’s universe in the trio Mono, and we’re thrilled to see what happens when Høeg’s unique spice is added to the mix!
Join us for three evenings where improvisation, intensity, and presence take center stage. The trio weaves it all together, letting the guests leave their own distinct mark.
Simon Toldam
One of Danish jazz’s most innovative pianists and composers, known for his ability to balance lyricism, experimentation, and intense energy. Toldam has won numerous awards, including five Danish Music Awards for Jazz, and is a key figure on both the Danish and international jazz scenes.
AC (Anders Christensen)
One of Denmark’s most in-demand bassists, having performed with everyone from Paul Motian, Joe Lovano, and Tomasz Stanko to Sort Sol and The Raveonettes. AC’s melodic tone and remarkable ability to listen and create space for his fellow musicians form the foundation of many landmark recordings, most recently on Sound Flower, produced and released by Jakob Bro.
Jakob Høyer
Jakob Høyer is one of Denmark’s most experienced and versatile drummers, effortlessly moving between jazz, rock, and improvisational music. He has worked with a wide range of artists and bands, including Nikolaj Nørlund, Kira Skov, and Trentemøller.
