ANNA KRUSE TRIO FEAT. STINA EKBLAD – “RINGEN” (Album release: Autumn 2025)
From the moment Anna Kruse first encountered the poetry of the Finland-Swedish poet Edith Södergran (1892–1923), she was captivated by the poet’s simple yet profound style—and by the music that seemed to flow between and beyond the words.
For Kruse, reading Södergran felt like hearing her own soul articulate the inexpressible. The poems themselves felt inherently musical. What she could not have foreseen was how deeply the poetry would take root—so much so that she would never truly be able to let it go.
Anna Kruse released her debut album Lyckokatt in 2009, followed by Champagnefötter (2013), Himlens Rand (2017), and Barndomsträd (2021). Between these, she also released several singles and EPs—all of them featuring music set to the poetry of Edith Södergran, as does this fifth album.

Although Södergran published only four collections of poetry during her short life, her words struck with such force and originality that they outlived the ridicule she faced in her own time. Her vulnerable yet powerful voice has endured, making her today one of the greatest poets in the history of Sweden and Finland. It is no wonder that Anna Kruse continues to be drawn to her vivid, vital, and yearning verses.
With Ringen, Kruse once again breathes new life into Södergran’s poetry—composing and arranging the music with her signature trio, and lending the words both musical and emotional depth through her voice. The project also features the celebrated Swedish-Finnish actress Stina Ekblad, whose spoken-word interpretations intertwine beautifully with Kruse’s singing.
