Gunde/Waidtløw Quartet "Tribute to Oscar Peterson & Stan Getz"
At this concert, two of our own leading personalities – pianist Henrik Gunde and saxophonist Claus Waidtløw – pay tribute to two of jazz’s greatest masters, Oscar Peterson and Stan Getz.
These two giants have each left an enormous mark on jazz. They worked together several times, including on the iconic 1958 album Stan Getz meets Oscar Peterson Trio.
Henrik Gunde is one of our biggest domestic stars, and with his playful and virtuosic playing, he has long established himself as a highly beloved pianist.
Claus Waidtløw is one of our most acclaimed saxophonists, with a number of releases to his name, including the DMA-winning album Playhouse.
The two bandleaders have a long-standing collaboration and know each other inside out. When they meet, music and creativity are given free rein. Alongside them are two of Danish jazz’s most sought-after sidemen: Swedish bass giant Daniel Franck and the swinging drummer Janus Templ...
