A new album from Bushbabies unfolds in full bloom at Radar.

On October 31, Bushbabies’ second album Huma Bird is released. On this record, they travel across continents, drawing inspiration from Persian funk, Brazilian folklore, African cowbells, and Tibetan mountains in their search for the divine Huma bird, which—according to legend—brings eternal good fortune to anyone touched by its shadow.

The music is grounded, precise, and vibrant—insistent yet inviting. With playful ease and deadly seriousness, the band creates rhythms and sounds that are both earthy and composed, yet also energetic and danceable.

Niclas Knudsen (guitar) has, for decades, explored new ways of playing improvised music in bands such as Ibrahim Electric and Kalaha.
