A musical encounter between experience, improvisation and genuine joy of playing.
Lakes & Fires was formed in 2024 by three friends, Birk Nevel, Lasse Boman and Shaka Loveless. They have played together in various projects since the early 2000s, and the band is built on a foundation of friendship, creativity and the urge to create. In addition to playing together in the hip hop collective Gypsies and the indie pop/rock band Are We Brothers?, the members have been involved in a variety of projects on the Danish music scene. Shaka Loveless went solo in the early 2010s with great commercial success, winning a DMA in 2013 for Male Artist of the Year. Support: Melissa Inya
Melissa was born in Uganda and moved to Denmark at the age of three. She has been part of the Danish music scene for over a decade and established herself early on as a distinctive voice on Copenhagen's thriving jazz scene. With over 100 concerts behind her in Denmark and abroad – including Paris, Stockholm, Helsinki, Nairobi, and Kampala – Melissa Inya is an international voice with deep roots and a global expression.
Her collaboration with Danish producer Abdullah S. in 2019 marked the start of her solo career. Melissa Inya's music is carried by a rare nerve and depth – often rooted in her personal experiences. In 2022, she released Lay Me Down, a moving lullaby for her son Otis, who died a few days after birth. A song that – like much of Melissa's music – balances sorrow and strength, darkness and light.
This concert will be presented as a duo with Thibault Gatinel.
An intense and intimate format, where the music is stripped down to its core and the voice is allowed to carry the room. The audience is invited into an intimate musical space, characterized by calm, depth, and genuine presence.
