Lakes & Fires was formed in 2024 by three friends, Birk Nevel, Lasse Boman and Shaka Loveless. They have played together in various projects since the early 2000s, and the band is built on a foundation of friendship, creativity and the urge to create. In addition to playing together in the hip hop collective Gypsies and the indie pop/rock band Are We Brothers?, the members have been involved in a variety of projects on the Danish music scene. Shaka Loveless went solo in the early 2010s with great commercial success, winning a DMA in 2013 for Male Artist of the Year. Lasse Boman has had great success as a songwriter with huge hits under his belt, including Uro and Drew Sycamore. Birk Nevel works as a producer and is one of the most sought-after drummers on the Danish live and studio scene.
