With an enchanting blend of Nordic melancholy, melodic beauty and intuitive improvisation, the Danish piano trio Little North has established itself as one of the most compelling voices on the European jazz scene. As part of Vinterjazz 2027, the trio will perform at HUSET in Aalborg, bringing their atmospheric and boundary-pushing music to the stage.

Little North consists of Benjamin Nørholm Jacobsen (piano), Martin Brunbjerg Rasmussen (double bass) and Lasse Jacobsen (drums). Together, they create a distinctive musical universe where simplicity meets complexity, and lyrical melodies, open soundscapes and spontaneous improvisations merge seamlessly.

With six album releases since 2020, the trio has developed a strong collective identity, with all three musicians contributing as composers. Their music draws inspiration from jazz, classical music and Nordic soundscapes, with each release exploring new musical directions.

On their latest album, Crossing Currents, the trio expands its musical horizons in collaboration with American vibraphonist Joel Ross and Swedish saxophonist Hannes Bennich. Recorded in New York, the album brings together musical influences from Copenhagen, Malmö and New York, creating a vibrant and exploratory meeting of minds across the international jazz scene.
