Sofiekælderen is a must for visiting musicians. If in Denmark, it´s obligatory to play here if possible. This of course goes back to the days of the old Montmartre, where some of the very best jazz musicians stayed in Denmark. When the old Montmartre closed down, the headwaiter Harvey Sand opened a restaurant in the new facilities in in the old building Steinfass` Court. And the music went with him. Nowadays Sofiekælderen is a high quality restaurant with good food, fine wines and great hospitality.
