Emmeluth, Matsuno and the Aabo-Kims
A new dynamic quartet built around the musicians Signe Emmeluth (alto saxophone), Nana Pi Aabo-Kim (tenor saxophone), Keisuke Matsuno (guitar) and Halym Aabo-Kim (drums). The quartet combines diverse impulses from the music scenes in Berlin, Copenhagen, New York and Oslo.
With multiple musical languages from jazz, rock, experimental and contemporary music they set their own artistic DNA within the musical frame of free improvised music. Music that is dynamic, impulsive, expressive and multidirectional.
Each musician in this quartet contributes with different musical backgrounds and they combine them collectively with interactions of tangling frequencies, overlapping textures, open tonalities, rhythmical structures and complex emotions.

Film Found
Look at a mistake that is not human. Be present in the uncontrollable intervention of the material. Between control and chance, surface and void, a film will (perhaps) be found.
"Film Found" is about exploring materiality and physical mediums of sound and film. In working with clay, paper and magnetic audiotape we experience a sense of working with the mediums and a certain artistic loss of control. ‘Loss of control’ has been both a mantra and a theme that can be traced in the creation process as well as the imagery. We wanted to create a project that is felt rather than analyzed. It is very important to us that the work is open to interpretation which is why we work with artistic tools such as intensity, textuality, imperfections and dynamics rather than a concrete narrative. The project can be seen as visual and sonic abstractions of our experience of being affected by otherness and losing control to larger forces of life. The film and score was created simultaneously."
