Ngánga with special guest!

Free admission

The word Ngánga comes from the Bantu people of West Africa and means both spiritual healer and musician.

The music originates from the rich Afro-Cuban folklore tradition, which was brought to Cuba by West African slaves from the early 1500s to the mid-1800s.

The group's expression is powerful, melodic, and polyrhythmic, blending original compositions and new arrangements of traditional Afro-Cuban songs and rhythms, which are seldom heard outside Cuba. Percussionist Rune Harder Olesen has studied and played Afro-Cuban music for 35 years and has now formed the orchestra Ngánga together with his Cuban wife, the charismatic singer and dancer Raisa Castro. Tonight a special guest will feature on percussion!

Line up:
  • Rune Harder Olesen: percussion og sang (DK)
  • Raisa Castro: sang og percussion (Cuba)
  • Yasser Pino: bas, guitar og sang (Cuba)
  • Special guest: Percussion (Cuba)
