Candombe is a South American cultural manifestation that originates from the descendants of liberated African slaves in Uruguay. For the last two hundred years, it has had a significant role in the culture of the Río de la Plata in the last two hundred years, and it is recognized by UNESCO as Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
