In 2017, the JAF Trio was formed. A Danish/Finnish co-lab between Frederik Bülow, Adele Sauros, and Joonas Tuuri. Shortly after, they were awarded The Rising Stars prize at the WeJazz Festival in Helsinki. They play music composed by each member. The music is filled with tight drum grooves, quirky bass ostinatos, and intense saxophone melodies. The pulse of the JAF Trio kicks in every beat. It is contrastive, moving from hectic to soft whispers.
They released their debut album in July 2020 on WeJazz Records and have been reviewed in publications such as ALL About Jazz and Jazz Journal UK. Their second album will be released in July 2024 on the Finnish record label Eclipse Music.
