ATMOSPHERIC NORDIC JAZZ & HYMNS IN SWEDISH
Here is a unique opportunity to hear the Danish-Swedish-Norwegian jazz singer, Cathrine Legardh, in a Nordic tribute to the Swedish jazz icon Monica Zetterlund. It happens with two excellent musicians; Jacob Christoffersen (piano) and Jesper Thorn (double bass). The trio also marks its tenth anniversary and together they perform a selection of Monica's many and versatile musical gems – some more well-known than others. The concert thus contains both folk and revue songs as well as jazz standards translated into Swedish by, among others, Beppe Wolgers and Hasse and Tage, Povel Ramel and Olle Adolphson – in addition to songs from the collaboration with pianist Bill Evans. Legardh has toured Scandinavia with great success – to full houses at e.g. The City Theatre in Stockholm and the Little Theatre in Helsinki. www.legardh.dk

'In sounding, perfectly formed Swedish and with a vocal that fits'Legardh sings with style, authority and credibility. And it is a great art to annex the Monica Zetterlund classic »Sakta vi går genom stan« and then just make it his own.' *****BERLINGSKE, Kjeld Frandsen
'She performed the most beautiful number after number. In between the songs, Legardh talked about Monica Zetterlund and her life. Most impressive was probably the deep calm that prevailed in the main square. If you could have measured the pulse among the listeners, it would have been disturbingly low. It was total listening and enjoyment.’ ÅRHUS JAZZ FEST, J. Gade
‘In sounding Swedish with perfect form and with a vocal that suited this particular style perfectly, Legardh interpreted in the best way and true to the original works some of Monica Zetterlund’s best songs accompanied by the three excellent musicians. A sweeping concert ended with a standing ovation.’ DAGBLADET STEVNS, T. Ebbesen
‘The cheers would never end when Cathrine Legardh & Co were thanked by the audience at a sold-out Victoriateatern’ Pierre.Falzon
