Bart Lewis JUBILEE (DK) + Benjamin Dousteyssier (FR)

In the summer of 2025, the trio Bart Lewis JUBILEE will collaborate with the leading French saxophonist Benjamin Dousteyssier. Benjamin is a unique voice in the younger generation of jazz musicians in Paris, as he moves freely between traditional jazz and experimental music. He teaches at the Gennevilliers Conservatoire and is, among others, a member of the orchestras Collectif Paris Swing and Post-K.
Bart Lewis JUBILEE consists of three musicians from different backgrounds with a common wish to share the joy of very old jazz. On a humorous and joyous journey, they explore the jazz repertoire from the pre-bebop era, which has roots in southern blues, mechanical piano music and marching bands. They seek to frame this repertoire in a contemporary context, where tradition is honored as well as examined, and where the music can still be danced to.
